Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) on Monday said he believes there has to be a face-to-face interview between President Trump and special counsel Robert Mueller as the latter continues his investigation into possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia.
Unquestionably there has to be that kind of face-to-face interview. The timing is important because the special counsel needs to have as many facts and as much evidence before he has that face-to-face interview with the president of the United States, Blumenthal said on CNNs New Day.
NBC News reported Monday that Trumps legal team is discussing options for a potential interview between the president and the special counsel.
Blumenthal, who is a member of the Senate Judiciary Committee, said he expects there will be more indictments and convictions in Muellers investigation into collusion between the Trump campaign and Russia. I think that the evidence accumulating against individuals within the White House, within the administration, the mounting evidence of obstruction of justice thats public, and we have no idea all of what is available to the special counsel, Blumenthal said when asked why he believes there will be more indictments.

(14,970 posts)Muehler: What color was the sky the day you met with the russians to arrange a quid pro quo arrangement to steal the election?
Trump: No, no Collusion. The sky was RED. It's the most magnificant sky, same color as my hat. Not the color of that goofy plane. Not Blue. More like my magnificent golf course at mara lago. Green, a magnicant green, same as the money my billions of dollars are. I'm worth billions. Good as gold! Same color, the sky was gold!
Muehler: Is that your final answer?

(37,457 posts)A small rant: We in America treat our Presidents like royalty, way too much. I know we here at DU don't believe in Presidents having "royal treatment" but it sure seems like our overall culture does. Come on America, the President is simply the chief executive of the executive branch, just like any CEO of any company. He or she can be treated accordingly. I would even say they should be able to be indicted, but I know that will never happen any time soon.
