Top Trump aide hints US may not abide by WTO rulings
Source: The Hill
President Trumps top economic adviser on Wednesday implied that the U.S. may not abide by any rulings from the World Trade Organization (WTO) as Trump prepares to face backlash from allied leaders this week over his latest trade moves.
International, multilateral organizations are not going to determine American policy, White House National Economic Council Director Larry Kudlow told reporters at a press briefing.
Kudlow said the Trump administration remains interested in the WTO and is working to resolve some of its trade disputes through the organization, but maintained its rulings would not determine U.S. policies.
We are bound by the national interest here, more than anything else, he said.

This really is unique.

(11,885 posts)Anything to do with him is amazing. He never keeps his word. Look at all the lawsuits from people working with him on projects that he's screwed them over on. Banks, contractors, and many others know to never trust him again for a very , very good reason, he lies all the time. Now its other leaders he's conning.

Seriously - go for the gold.
This slow moving bullshit is for amateurs.
Or maybe the GOP in Congress can stop being willing accomplices and put a stop to that fucker.
Trump's loudmouth bravado does have consequences - bad ones - for the country. The idea that he can continually threaten other nations and their leaders because he thinks that gives him leverage for a better deal is delusional. Sooner or later, bluffs will be called. In the meantime, Trump is alienating allies. Never a good thing.
He bullied other people that way when he did business in the private sector - but those people aren't entire sovereign nations, some of which have been around far longer than America.
