EU's Juncker Says Trump Called Him a 'Brutal Killer' at G-7
Source: Bloomberg
European Commission chief Jean-Claude Juncker said he was labeled a killer by U.S. President Donald Trump at a tumultuous Group of Seven summit in Canada.
Trump told me last week you are a brutal killer, Juncker, a Luxembourger, told the Bavarian Parliament in Munich on Thursday.
Thats the first time that Luxembourg has grown into such a threat to the U.S., Juncker added. I think he meant it as a compliment, but Im not so sure.
The comments by the president of the European Unions executive arm illustrate the confusion that Trump is sowing among U.S. allies with his challenges on trade, Iran and defense spending. Last month, when the U.S. imposed tariffs on imported aluminum and steel from Europe, Juncker admitted that whenever Im thinking about Trump, Im lost.

"You go first, please."
"No, I insist, you go first."
"I really think you should go first."
"I couldn't do that -- it wouldn't be nice."
and on, and on, for seven days until the Luxembourg army ran out of wine and cheese and went home.

How tragic that they ran of out wine and cheese. That should never happen to anyone, according to the Geneva Convention.

(175,776 posts)He died long before I was born, but according to my mother, he always said that guns in Luxembourg were designed to shoot around corners. The country is small and they didn't want to start a war with anyone. And they never did, though they were occupied twice by the Germans in the last century.
Is there no limit to his nastiness?
