Aide: Governor's son cooperating on airliner incident

Source: Associated Press

Updated 7:18 pm, Friday, June 22, 2018

BOSTON (AP) — A son of Massachusetts' governor has been accused of improper conduct aboard a jetliner, and an aide says he will cooperate.

Republican Gov. Charlie Baker's spokeswoman, Lizzy Guyton, is calling it "a personal matter for the Baker family" and says Andrew Baker "will cooperate with any request from authorities."

No charges have been filed against Baker's son, who goes by the nickname A.J.

JetBlue says its crew on a flight from Washington to Boston was notified of an incident between customers shortly before landing, when it was met by authorities Wednesday night.

BOSTON (CBS) — I-Team Chief Investigative reporter Cheryl Fiandaca has learned that Governor Charlie Baker's adult son, Andrew, has been accused of an alleged sexual assault by an airline passenger. Sources tell the I-Team the incident happened on June 20 aboard a JetBlue Flight from Washington, DC to Boston.

According to sources, an adult female passenger told State Police that Andrew Baker, who is known as AJ, groped her breast on that flight. The woman, allegedly told authorities that Baker refused to stop touching her and that she needed the help of flight attendants to move to another seat on the plane.

Had to look it up on wiki to make certain, but pretty sure from the no party mention.

You also know he would have been arrested immediately if he was not a Gov's son.

It probably depends on the source of the news. Certainly Fox "News" would omit the party (or "accidentally" label him as a Democrat).

Just one look at that picture reminds me of all the handsome, pretty-boys I grew up with that got away with anything. Add to that being a powerful politician's son and I have little doubt this guy likely treats people like the Trumps treat people.

I bet he was a popular football/baseball/etc. player in school and well-loved by teachers.

Always remember, stereotypes exist for a reason. There is some kernel of truth in their foundation.

The tRump "boys" are certainly not good looking, though. They think their father's money (so he says, anyway) gives them freedom to do as they please. Spoiled brats.

Not just repugnant, but odd.

These kinds of assaults usually happen at drunken gatherings, concerts, bars, in dark corners, privates offices (in my experience anyway), etc. A situation in which they are less inhibited and have some degree of either privacy or anonymity.

What young man would do that within the snug quarters of an air flight, and continue to do it when told to stop, guaranteeing a loud scene?

If he is mentally ill, that could explain why no charges were filed.

Stupid to be sure, but the type of person that does such things generally aren’t the sharpest knife in the drawer.

As a Mass resident, I adore him. He always does the right thing (from a Dem perspective). As an example, he was the first of several governors to refuse to send the National Guard to help with the immigration baby-grabbing disaster at the border last week.

That doesn't mean his son is not an asshole, of course.

I've had plenty of things "accidentally" brushed or grabbed on planes.
It's a perfect place to do it, because the guys usually shrug it off like, "oh, crowded space - it was an accident!"
Three or four times.

Haven't had to sit next to a stranger on a plane for a while, though, since my husband, daughter & I get a row to ourselves!

But who would do it?
Probably an entitled young asshole who has done it before, and hasn't yet caught up with the me too movement...
