Chris Christie, who was ousted as chairman of Donald Trumps White House transition team in 2016, has written a blistering attack on Jared Kushner, whom he accuses of having carried out a political hit job on him as an act of revenge for prosecuting his father, Charles Kushner, a decade ago.
In his soon to be published book, Let Me Finish, Christie unleashes both barrels on Trumps son-in-law, who remains a senior White House adviser with responsibilities for Middle Eastern peace, sentencing reform and American Innovation.
Christie blames this key player in the presidents inner circle for his ignominious dismissal shortly after Trumps election victory in November 2016. Christie, the former governor of New Jersey, writes that Kushners role in his sacking was confirmed to him by Steve Bannon, Trumps campaign chief, in real time.
As Bannon was carrying out the firing, at Trump Tower in New York, Christie forced him to tell him who was really behind the dismissal by threatening to go to the media and point the finger at Bannon instead.

(6,212 posts)so why is that considered explosive revelations.
I don't think Putin wanted Christie as VP. It was Manafort who pushed Pence on Trump.

(47,772 posts)to see those two personalities at odds with one another in the White House, though Christie did end up kissing Trump's ass during the campaign. I just wonder how long he could have sustained it if he was VP. He is as big a jerk as Trump, but he's a lot smarter.

(9,426 posts)in an eating contest? Christie would have to take breaks to go for more fast food!! Kushner has more responsibilities than tRump. He is just as "qualified" for all those positions as daddy tRump is for the presidency.

(35,837 posts)from his breaks to get more fast food because he has to verbally abuse constituents every step of the way. Remember when he was at the baseball game, getting nachos, and he got into a yelling exchange with a citizen?
Christie is the prototype for "no peace." When he was governor, everywhere he went there were protesters. I know because I was often in the group of protesters.
Even now, I am helping to pick up the pieces of his miserable term as governor as I work on union committees that are trying to restore the rights he was able to take away from us. Just yesterday I was at one of those meetings.
But, boys and girls, there is a silver lining to the cloud that is Christie. People hated him so much they elected the most progressive governor in the whole U.S.
I cannot tell you what a relief it is to wake up and know Phil Murphy is in charge. Not perfect, but 98% there.

(5,914 posts)Two go in. Only one comes out.
My prediction is that Christie would bear hug Kushner and smother him between his breasts.

He does, however, contend that Kushner misjudged two Russia-related firings: that of Flynn in February 2017 and most famously that of the FBI director James Comey in May the same year. According to Christie, Kushner thought firing Flynn would end talk of links between the Trump campaign and Russia it did not and that firing Comey would not provoke an enormous shit-storm in Washington. It did.

(3,426 posts)those of a type find ways to put themselves above themselves to call out, accuse, direct or shift blame into others as though they themselves are completely innocent, free of guilt, never in the wrong. In this case the slob bluntly throws it out there (political hit job) . Right, so whats a bridge.
He will know and experience first hand what it all comes down to when it is Finished.
