ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — A judge in Alaska has ordered jail time for a man who skied with his son to a bear den, where they killed a mother bear and her two cubs, unaware that a research camera was recording them.

Andrew Renner was sentenced Tuesday to three months in jail while his 18-year-old son Owen Renner received 30 days of suspended time in connection with the April killings.

The Renners didn't know until later that the killings were caught on video by a motion-activated camera set up as part of a wildlife observation program.

Prosecutors say the men pleaded guilty to multiple counts, including illegal killing of the bears.

Alaska hunter and son sentenced for killing bear, 'shrieking' newborn cubs on camera
By Leroy Polk | Posted: Wed 1:25 PM, Jan 23, 2019

ANCHORAGE (KTUU) - Two people found guilty for illegally killing a black bear mother and two newborn cubs have been sentenced, including both jail time and hefty fines.

The "poaching incident," Alaska State Troopers reported, dates back to April 14 , 2018. Then, Andrew Renner, 41, of Wasilla, and Owen Renner, 18, also of Wasilla, were hunting on Esther Island in Prince William Sound.
. . .

The sow was collared and a motion-activated camera was reportedly set up by researchers at the den. That camera was set to record audio and video and troopers said it captured the entire incident.

"The video shows A. Renner and O. Renner skiing up to the den and then O. Renner firing two shots at the denning sow. A. Renner then kills the shrieking newborn bear cubs and discards their bodies away from the den," AST wrote in its report.m

I've tried to find photos of these dregs but absolutely nothing appears. Nothing. More sub-human Wasilla dirtbags.

snip..."In a release issued by the Department of Law, Andrew Renner was sentenced to five months in jail with two months suspended, pay a fine of $20,000 with $11,000 suspended, forfeit his 22’ Sea Sport ocean boat and trailer, 2012 GMC Sierra pickup truck, two rifles, two handguns, two iPhones, and two sets of backcountry skis which were used in the offenses. His hunting license was revoked for 10 years.

Owen Renner was sentenced to suspended jail time, community works service and required to take a hunters safety course. His hunting license was suspended for two years.

Both defendants were ordered to pay $1,800 restitution, the amount set by statute for killing black bears."

A touch better for Andtew and not enough for Owen

Won't bring mama and the cubs back, though.

the natural world. I only wish that there was some way for those types to go first when the great massive human die-off gets rolling. There will be a depopulation event or events in our near future, these are the ones who should go first.

It helps SO much to have faces you can study, to help get some kind of closure to especially evil crimes against innocents. Just being able to see these two provides an answer to concern about what kind of filth would do these things.

Thank you, so much, to a great DU'er, for providing this link:

So ugly. One of their photos shows the mini-renner sitting in a tree in his protected hide-out from which he can shoot down at unsuspecting animals. Wish someone would set it on fire!

When will idiots ever learn this world does NOT belong to them?

Thank you for the photos. So glad their faces will be known.

I feel sick.

What was the purpose of this other than to kill for the sake of killing? Are they going to eat the bears? I support the movement to arm bears......

that animal is OFF limits to hunters. Not that I believe that these two blood lusters gave a damn.

What was the purpose of killing the mama bear AND the babies ? They were in their den. No human eats bear meat. Were they planning on having the bear stuffed ? Or was this just another case of toxic masculinity, human superiority, and "I can shoot this bear because I have a gun."

Fuck these mongrels.
