White House security officials wanted to reject presidential son-in-law Jared Kushner’s top-secret security clearance application — but were overruled by their superior.

NBC News reported that according to two sources familiar with the matter, the aides who moved to reject Kushner’s clearance had been career officials.

The supervisor that overruled them, the report noted, was former Pentagon employee Carl Kline, who had been appointed four months into the Trump administration.

was starting to investigate this before this story broke. I believe it is Elija Cummings committee.

This Cline guy is going to have to explain how he overruled two people to get clearances for at least 30 people.

Waterboard the sob. Lock them up.

Jared Kushner was awarded top security clearance giving him access to highly sensitive national security intelligence last May after a prolonged delay in his FBI background checks. Kushner had lost his full clearance a few months before, after it emerged that he had failed to disclose adequate information.

The NBC News report, published on Thursday night, suggests new intrigue within the White House over the clearance process. Two career White House officials specializing in assessing individuals for their security risk turned Kushner down for the sensitive “top secret” category, the report states.

Unnamed sources told NBC News that the adjudicators based their rejection of Kushner on FBI background checks that raised red flags over Kushner’s family’s businesses as well as his foreign contacts.
(snip)

The NBC News report is likely to generate fury over the way the White House is conducted because it suggests a drastic reduction in security standards in order to benefit members of Trump’s entourage. NBC News reports that not only did Kline grant Kushner a top secret pass, he also overruled security specialists and approved clearance for other Trump appointees in at least another 30 cases – vastly more than the norm in recent presidencies.

it needs to be on the front page. This Trump appointee guy, Kline, was giving out security clearances to people who the FBI had investigated and 2 other officials determined that as many as 30 people should not have security clearances.

I hope that the corporate controlled right wing M$M is happy with what they got, maybe they are and just don't care. I hope that the people who were in the former Republican party, who now comprise the Trump/GOP party are happy with what we got, maybe they are.

Was it worth it for them since they got huge tax breaks, deregulation, the federal courts packed with right wing white nationalists, the SC packed with right wing ideologues?

Was it worth it for you to allow a Putin puppet to become president, to deny Russian involvement in our elections, to not force Trump to release his taxes, to allow Trump to violate nepotism laws to bring his family into the White House? Was it worth it for you to not complain when Trump started firing good dedicated people and replacing them with his cronies, cronies who shouldn't have had security clearances?

Was it worth it for you to back Trump and shut down the government over a stupid fucking wall that won't do anything that it is supposed to do, a wall that the majority of Americans do not want?

It makes me sick to hear the banter going on about both sides are responsible. When are you going to stop it M$M?
Trump wants to regulate you, wants to censure you if you tell the truth about him. Wake up.

I hope and pray that this new blockbuster report is another huge spike in Trump's coffin. I hope that this gets covered today, but then again, I don't expect it. Our government, our institutions, our democracy are being shredded by a president who does the bidding of Russian and American oligarchs.

Go get this Kline guy Mr. Cummings, put him under oath, waterboard him if you have to, what he did was so unprecedented, ok so rare, that it almost has never happened in our history. WTF people this Trump appointee was giving out security clearances to people who didn't deserve them.

Piss on all of this, I couldn't sleep, this story needs shouted to the roof tops.

Impeach the motherfucker, then take his money, then send him to prison.
