Senators introduce bill to require special counsel report be made public
A bipartisan pair of senators want to require that a report from special counsel Robert Mueller's Russia probe, as well as from other Justice Department special counsels, is released publicly once the investigation ends.
Sens. Richard Blumenthal (D-Conn.) and Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), both members of the Judiciary Committee, introduced legislation on Monday that would require a DOJ special counsel to hand over a report to Congress once either the probe ends or in the event a special counsel is fired or resigns.
A Special Counsel is appointed only in very rare serious circumstances involving grave violations of public trust. The public has a right and need to know the facts of such betrayals of public trust," Blumenthal said in a statement.
Grassley added that requiring a public report would provide "oversight of and insight into activities" of a special counsel probe............................

(11,885 posts)How he falsely claims the border is a National Emergency , but all the studies and facts show it isn't. What's even more of a National Emergency is he's saying nothing about the Putin cyber threat that's still going on leaving our infrastructure sectors all at extreme risk, and also from an EMP attack from Russia or China, and he says nothing when

(3,335 posts)it was first released. Starr's report included the most salacious details of who touched whom and where. I had stated in a previous post that if Starr could release and sell copies of his 'smut' report, than the general public had better get to see Mueller's report. I will always believe it was the perv Ken Starr's report that nearly drove Monica Lewinsky to commit suicide, not Bill Clinton's. I also stated previously that if I were Monica's Mother, Ken Starr would have had to send me to jail before I would have told the perv anything about my daughter's activities. Ken Starr interviewed Monica's mother and threatened to send her to jail unless she told him all the details that her daughter Monica had told her. As her Mother, I would have sat in jail indefinitely before I would have told the Pervert anything my daughter told me in confidence. Starr then took all those salacious details and published them in a book, and sold them to the public.

(51,674 posts)A Dem rep said last week that he will make sure the report gets to the public and he was very confident and certain it would happen, as if this has been seriously discussed and decided already.
