President Trump on Wednesday blasted top intelligence leaders for being "wrong" about their new assessment on Iran's nuclear developments.

The president, who claimed Iran has recently tested rockets, also mocked the intelligence leaders in his administration, suggesting they "should go back to school."
The two tweets came a day after Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and CIA Director Gina Haspel offered testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee that seemed to contradict things the president has said.
Coats testified that the intelligence community found that Iran is not currently seeking to develop its nuclear weapons capabilities, basing his remarks on an intelligence assessment.

(8,200 posts)It must be determined if Trump's policies are based on total ignorance of the situation or are they designed to destroy our constitutional government.
There are two fundamental policies that Trump is pursuing that must be challenged. The first is the alienation of our allies with virtually every functional democracy both in Europe, the Americas including Canada, Japan, Australia and the South East Asia. Especially disconcerting is Trump's undermining of NATO which has stood as a bulwark against Russia's determination to dominate Europe since WWII. It is especially important in the necessity of strengthening the new member nations that joined the allegiance following the collapse of the Soviet Union. Trump rather than working to increase our commitment has taken the adverse position that can only serve to please both China and Russia. He has chosen to not only totally ignore the finding of everyone of our intelligence agencies, but to openly question their findings. This is not a new development but one that he has demonstrated for the moment he took office. The second is he actually working complete cognizant and actively pursuing policies that are placing our nation in jeopardy of domination by our most dreaded enemies, Russia and China. It is evident that their has been a strengthening of their partnership that has been buoyed by Trump's policies both in Europe and in South East Asia.
The question that must be asked is Trump's actions being undertaken to intentionally weaken and eventually destroy our nation and its allies or is it the actions of totally incompetent moron. If the affirmative of either option is determined he must be removed from office before he brings catastrophic damage to the entirety of the free world. The entire world is undergoing a dramatic change as the Industrial Revolution which provided massive employment for minimally educated is being supplanted by the rapid automation that is affecting every aspect of industry. It a such a massive change that the choices that are made now will affect every individual. Will they be made to enhance and protect individual liberty or will the be exploited to justify virtual enslavement?
It is imperative that we ask is he and his cadre of oligarchs conspiring to use this as the modus operandi for their long sought authoritarian government? Does this explain what appears to be irrational decisions that this is administration actively pursuing? Among numerous issues is the massive unjustified tax cut that will eventually bankrupt the government opening the way to suspension of liberties and oligarchical control? We must also ask does this explain the transformation that the Republican Party has undergone since the Reagan administration which open up the broadcast airwaves to domination by propagandist spreading outright misinformation, the destruction of union and the embrace of radical extreme religious zealots? Is it too late?

This is far more than a slap in the face. This is a kick in the groin. And its not as if these three are liberal simps. They are RW warriors. And theyve been seriously dissed.
Trump, Pense and Pompeo? Putins puppets?

(50,601 posts)What could really be entertaining is for the Senate Intelligence Committee to start calling desk analysts to testify. If Haspels opinion is no good, how about someone working NSAs Middle East/North Africa economic and political operation?
