Senate approves Syria, anti-BDS bill

Source: The Hill

The Senate passed legislation on Thursday breaking with President Trump’s Syria policy.

Senators voted 77-23 to send the legislation to the House that includes a provision warning Trump against a “precipitous” withdrawal of troops from Syria and Afghanistan.

It also asks the administration to certify that certain conditions have been met "for the enduring defeat of al Qaeda and ISIS before initiating any significant withdrawal of United States forces from Syria or Afghanistan."

The bill was approved after it overcame a filibuster earlier this week.

bill get to skirt around First Amendment rights? The govt can't tell citizens who they must support at all costs and deny them the use of free speech to protest policies they object to.

This is a BS bill and there should be a stack of legal papers ready to drop if this one sided violation of our basic rights to challenge govt positions ever got past the Senate. I have no doubt that Pelosi will not endorse this unilateral gift to a foreign country over the constitutional rights of American citizens.
