Colin Kaepernick, Eric Reid settle collusion grievances against NFL and teams
Source: The Washington Post
The NFL and Colin Kaepernick announced Friday that theyve reached a settlement in the case in which the quarterback accused the league and its 32 teams of colluding to prevent him from playing because of his decision to kneel during the national anthem.
The terms of the settlement were not disclosed, leaving those in and around the NFL to speculate about what it might have cost the league and team owners to avoid a hearing in the case.
The sideline protest by Kaepernick, which he began in 2016 to call attention to racial inequality and police mistreatment of African Americans, ignited a polarizing movement of NFL players protesting during the anthem and made him an internationally recognized civil rights advocate.
A related collusion grievance by Carolina Panthers safety Eric Reid, formerly Kaepernicks teammate with the San Francisco 49ers who protested alongside him, also was resolved.

(75 posts)We don't know the details. And knowing Jerry Jones, he would throw money without a care like rice at a wedding.

(75 posts)But realistically, nothing is known on this settlement. Hell, there may have been an agreement or 2 that may be looked upon as "cowering to the terrorists". I for one will be looking at this with complete vigilance. Hope many follow suit.

I never heard Snyder's name mentioned in that group, which surprised me a little. Then a friend of mine pointed out that Snyder never closes doors to anything. He's a horrible owner, but given some of the deals he's made, it's probably true that he would not say never to anything

(75 posts)This war must be won in total and complete absolution. This settlement is not even close to it.
