South Dakota Republican lawmaker gave high school students fliers encouraging them to tattle on teachers who violate their conservative ideology and also attempted to link Democrats to the KKK.
Sioux Falls Argus Leader reported that state Sen. Phil Jensen (R) gave the high school students a flier featuring a meme from conservative activist Dinesh DSouza that includes references to the pre-schism Democratic Partys role in slavery and the Klan.
I think if people want to wipe out reminders of slavery, segregation & white supremacy, we might consider getting rid of the Democratic Party, the photocopied meme, which conflates the antiquated Democratic platform with the modern party, read.
The flier also encourages students to email Jensens government address if their teachers violate their conservative values by pushing their own ideology.

(152 posts)Jensen lives in Rapid City, SD near the Black Hills and if folks really want to make an impact, skip your trip to Mt. Rushmore until this moron is out of office. While your at it, also stop buying your Blue Bunny ice cream which has helped fund Jensen's "cousin" Steve King in Iowa for years. Economic choices do make a difference.

(2,227 posts)Students can also report teachers who try to shove their religious bullshit down students' throats, or teach any flavor of anti-science. Those are two legitimate grievances.
Document it.
We have to meet them on their turf and fight fire with fire.
If parents really want to take a stand, they should be ready to back up their students.

(5,829 posts)to fend off delusional assholes like Jensen. I bet he's already tried to get revisionist history taught, and it wouldn't surprise me if he's a creationism pusher, too.
