A naval unit with a carrier air wing has even more options to fell the incoming missiles. Another problem is quantity of these missiles deployed. These missiles were designed by the Russians to be launched in mass, with hundreds of missiles employed in an attack. Lebanon bough 72 of these missiles

These missiles are also huge. They weigh over 6,000 lbs and are 30 feet in length. That means we know exactly where they are at all times before they are launched.
