Ricketts warns of 'creep of socialism'; Dems bring Republicans baby rattles, say they're scaring GOP

Source: Omaha World Herald

By Aaron Sanderford 11 hrs ago

Gov. Pete Ricketts warned the state’s Republicans in an email about the “creep of socialism” into Nebraska politics.

His Nov. 20 fundraising message called on donors to fund the Nebraska Republican Party and its candidates because Nebraska Democrats are “building a progressive machine.”

On Monday, the state’s top Democrats delivered large plastic containers of baby rattles to the offices of Ricketts and two fellow Republicans, Reps. Don Bacon and Jeff Fortenberry, and “apologized” for rattling the state’s GOP officeholders.

Nebraska Democratic Party Chairwoman Jane Kleeb said Nebraska Democrats view Ricketts’ email as a “huge compliment” and a sign that Republicans are worried about Democratic momentum.

Paul Fell, on the right, is a Nebraskan.

Chan Lowe, on the left, is the son of Carol Channing and has spent most of his career in Fort Lauderdale.

Both are spot on.

Dems relentlessly try to be statesmanlike while the mushy middle lumps us in with republican jackassery because "they are both the same" so we really have little choice, but to muck it up with Rs.

Just hate the the country gives them a pass on 99% of their shit while dems take hits from complete made up bullshit.

Much of the farm bailout went to big agribusiness and wealthy farm operations. The people who needed the aid got a pittance. Republicans are good at pulling out bogeymen to scare voters, and their voters keep buying it year after year even though their threats of Democratic disaster never come true. Wouldn’t you think some would realize they’re being played by now!

Just when the narrative of Peace, Justice and Democracy is gaining traction, someone on The Right starts waving the Red and Pinko Flag and cries of Socialism and Communism are trucked out.
Sorry, red baiting just doesn’t work anymore. Joe McCarthy is SO over!

Saint Ronnie the B-movie actor portraying some sort of westerner. A cowboy?

Pretty sure it's a painting, though.

Fake cowboy to appeal to romanticized fantasies of the wide-open frontier, implying that we would have just such freedom by getting rid of those evil regulations and evil government. Or so Saint Ronnie said. The reality brought about by that evil old bastard's policies--a degraded environment looted by the oligarchs--is of course quite different.

I had to go to public (socialist) elementary school, my parents drove me there on public (socialist) streets. I then attended a public (socialist) middle school. Then I attended a public (socialist) high school.
After High School, the capitalists were having a war over in Vietnam, so to avoid being drafted and led off to be slaughtered, I took the socialist option and joined the Navy.
After the socialist Navy, I went to a public university to study computer science. Yes, I admit that the socialist military subsidized my education through a socialist program called the GI Bill.

Then had an opportunity to work in a socialist organization offered to me by the State if California. I worked as an IT Specialist for 33 years. Sure, my friends that did the same job in private corporations got paid much more than I did, but my job was very secure. While working in my socialist state job, driving to and for on socialist highways and streets, I had to pay part of my salary into two socialist retirement programs. And I had to pay into this socislistic medical benefit program.
But after my 33 years of working in this socialistic job, I retired. Now, I’ve been retired for 12 years. I still get a check each month from the two socialist retirement programs, I get excellent health care as a retirement benefit from my socialist job. I still am able to drive on the socialist streets, roads, highways, at no cost beyond what I gladly pay into another socialist program called state and federal income tax.
All in all, growing up, living in, working in, and raising my son in, a socialist segment of this society had worked out quite well for me.
Who knows, it could work for a lot if us.
