Michelle Obama wins her first Grammy for 'Becoming' audiobook

Michelle Obama’s memoir clearly struck a chord with Grammy voters.

The former first lady became an early Grammy winner ahead of Sunday night’s ceremony in Los Angeles when she received the trophy for Best Spoken Word Album for the audiobook version of “Becoming.”

Obama released the best-selling memoir in November 2018.

It’s Obama’s first Grammy triumph. She won a category that also included “The Beastie Boys Book,” John Waters’ “Mr. Know-It-All,” Eric Alexandrakis’ “I.V. Catatonia: 20 Years As A Two-Time Cancer Survivor” and “Sekou Andrews & The String Theory.”
