California economy can start reopening this week from coronavirus shutdown, Gavin Newsom says

SACRAMENTO California retailers can begin to reopen their businesses to curbside pickup as soon as the end of this week, Gov. Gavin Newsom said Monday, while some regions of the state with few coronavirus cases will be able to go even further in loosening restrictions on public life.
We are entering into the next phase, Newsom said at a news conference. This is a very positive sign, and it is happening for only one reason: The data says it can happen.
It may be a while, however, before the Bay Area takes those steps. Six Bay Area counties are under a stay-at-home order through the end of May that is separate from the states shutdown, and Newsom said such counties could keep their stricter rules in place past Friday if they choose.

I watched him today, and he spoke of how he has worked out something with a couple of the beach cities and had continued dialog with Huntington Beach. I looked up Huntington Beach's mayor, and guess what: Republican. Most likely a Trump supporter.
Huntington Beach was the beach where the photo was taken: it appeared to be a regular 4th of July weekend in the photo, however, it was taken last weekend...during the pandemic.
So tonight on the local news, one of the city council people from HB said that they sent their proposal to Newsom but haven't heard one word. Typical Republican banter: exaggerate, lie, put the blame on others.
Regardless of what happens, I'm pretty sure Newsom will have his way. These Republicans are just complete idiots.
