From what I read a few days ago, there was a chance Democrats could have pulled this off this, if they just voted. What happened here?

Friends living in that district tell me that between Caronavirus stay at home measures and folks who were still mad at Hill, they tell me that the consensus was that many people didn't even bother voting because they feel that Hill didn't bother to fight for her seat (My friends voted for Smith, although still furios at Hill).

To this day these same friends still say that Hill allowed thuglicans to force her out of her seat. These folks are seniors like many of us are. Live on a fixed income/budget. Rangle to keep paying for their meds. In other words, many face hardships. They they took valuable time, and put themselves out there and physically that wasn't easy physically to get others to vote for Hill (One friend is very disabled), so I can definately see where they are coming from.

I was reading about Smith's challenger, and he's nothing but a tRump kiss ass whose against the ACA and thinks that King fat ass is doing a fine job of handing this carona crisis/pandemic. Personally, I wouldn't have punished Smith for Hill's issues, but then again I wasn't the one out there physically aching and working hard for Hill, only to have leave her seat like she did. As I mentioned in my post below, we are seeing tRump real-time MURDERING folks, the party of putin rolling over laws, and remaining quite about all the shit tRump's getting away with. They don't give one fuck about what people think about them/him or about the rule of law. And to think, he'll probably get rewarded thanks MoscowMitch hi-jacking the court and turning it into a 5-4 thuglican court.

I feel a 5-4 split, with his buddies ruling that he won't have to show his income taxes. He's above the law AND the treasonous/law-breaking/murdering King of America 🙄

My friend actually has to be reminded about how dire times are. Not that she doesn't know but sometimes she uh .. Anyway, she said "Oh God, you're right. I'm SORRY!" Love her to death but good LORD, she's one who suffers from not being able at times to see the forrest for the trees syndrome, because she's really into this always playing fair crap. These are not times in which you can afford to play fair 24/7 since your life is literally depending on you fighting back at some point to save yourself. Yes, Hill had the right to leave if she wanted to. I will say that fellow senior citizen friends who worked on her campaign living in the 25th who are still disappointed in her voted for her anyway because the guy running against her is a tRump butt kisser and ACA hater. But their friends living in that district told them that they were depressed over the Caronavisus, the death of friends/relatives (a few of their friends lost a family members/friends) on top of Hill "rolling over" like she did one said, and on top of all of those things they listed, quarantine fatigue has set in to the point that they didn't even want to bother voting at all. I ask my friends about the ease of their friends using their mail-in ballots to vote. You only had to mark Smith's name on the ballot I'm told, put into the return envelope and send it back postage paid (It's extremely easy to vote here in Ca.). They all to a person told me that their friends living in that district said why bother since Hill didn't even bother to keep her seat? I think that was the deal-breaker in the end--at least that's the feeling I got from what friends described to me. Them feeling that Hill had no loyalty to fight for them/her seat.

I pray Dems in the 2020 GE come out in droves to VOTE this murdering monster out of office, because if they don't

Her adds came a bit too late in my opinion and didn't hit hard enough against Garcia. Plus Smith didn't seem as organized as Katie Hill was.
