Devin Nunes: Criminal referrals coming for Mueller team
Source: Washington Examiner
The top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee said criminal referrals are coming for members of former special counsel Robert Mueller's team who investigated Russian interference in the 2016 election.
We're looking at doing criminal referrals on the Mueller team, the Mueller dossier team, the Mueller witch hunt, whatever you want to call it. That's where we are now in our investigation, Rep. Devin Nunes told Fox Nations Witch Hunt.
"We're doing a large criminal referral on the Mueller dossier team that put together a fraudulent report that knew there was no collusion the day that Mueller walked in the door," the California Republican added. "They set an obstruction of justice trap. There's no doubt in my mind that we will make a conspiracy referral there."
Mueller released his 448-page report last April. The investigation found numerous links between the Russian government and the Trump campaign," but "did not establish that members of the Trump campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities. Mueller did not draw a conclusion about whether President Trump obstructed justice, but did lay out 10 instances of possible obstruction in his report.

Who's this we? When did Devin Nunes join the Justice Department?
Mueller did the job he was appointed to do.
Yes I know the Washington Examiner leans right but this is a bizarre story.

(14,178 posts)Just like an "ongoing investigation of Hunter Biden" if they would have gotten away with that secret. Or Benghazi. Or emails. I mean, if the government is investigating it must be serious. Its not really meant to have any conclusion. And it will stop dead if and when Trump is re-elected.
It has worked before, so why would they not do it? Just the fact that high ranking Republicans are "taking this seriously" and its talked all day on Faux News by faux enraged hosts, it will propel the propaganda as W put it. Where there's smoke there's fire. And it also cements home the idea that the Mueller investigation was all a witch hunt, and they found nothing.
Its like say, Democrats investigating war crimes or Wall Street when Obama came into office. Oh right....That is how the opposite assumption is made. That there must have been nothing there or donuts to dollars the Dems would have tried, is how Republican voters take it.

(101,390 posts)The attorney representing Rep. Devin Nunes in six lawsuits has received two recent, rare warnings from judges that raise the prospect of courts sanctioning him.
People and organizations that Nunes attorney, Steven Biss, is suing have begun asking judges to punish him in several other instances.
Three of the requests for sanctions from National Public Radio, Twitter and a government whistleblower advocate mark an escalation in their defense against defamation lawsuits Biss has filed.
The most recent request for sanctions against Biss came from Fusion GPS, the firm known for creating the so-called Steele dossier, which contained unverified tips about President Donald Trumps connections to Russia.

(1,639 posts)That was a rhetorical question. In Nunes's case, I don't really want to know.
Nunes seems to think that putting on a leather jacket and dangling a cigarette from his pouty lips makes him look cool and dangerous.
Clearly, he is Squiggy. Who is his Leonard?
