State Rep. Candice Keller, a Middletown Republican, speaks on the Ohio House floor. Keller said she was asked to leave the Gettysburg Visitor Center and Museum because she wouldn't wear a mask.

A Republican Ohio state official is claiming in a video shared to Facebook Thursday that she was asked to leave the Gettysburg Visitor Center and Museum for refusing to wear a mask.

In a Facebook video, first reported by The Hill, Rep. Candice Keller, after reading Lincoln’s Gettysburg Address in front of the Soldiers National Monument, said she and her husband were asked to leave the Gettysburg Welcome Center on Thursday because they would not wear face masks.

"This is not a law in Pennsylvania or in Ohio, where I come from, and it is an unconstitutional idea that our leaders have come up with," she said.

She said they chose not to argue, were refunded the cost of their tickets and left.

I'd like to yank those goddamn crosses out of her ugly earlobes.

Oh, and she lost her reelection bid.

The state's republican chair called for Keller’s resignation earlier this year after she blamed the Dayton mass shooting on everything from "drag queen advocates," "homosexual marriage," and even former President Obama.

in the text of the speech, didn't know what the word meant, decided that the prompter was wrong, and said airports instead.

which, in a nutshell, describes the complete stupidity and willful arrogance of one Donald J. Trump.

There's nothing in the Constitution about having the right to spread an infection.
This woman thinks that being a member of the Ohio legislature somehow entitles her to assume that she won't spread the virus like an ordinary person, and/or she has special privileges at a federal landmark in Pennsylvania.
Let's hope that Ohio voters don't re-elect her.

Secretary of Health Dr. Rachel Levine this week issued an order that everyone wear masks in any situations, inside or out, where they are unable to maintain a six-foot social distance.

That started Wednesday; she went on Thursday to Pennsylvania. She was clearly out to cause a scene in another state. She is a troll.

Disease Prevention and Control Law of 1955 (35 P. S. § § 521.1—521.21)

and it has this handy dandy section -

35 Pa. Stat. § 521.3

Section 521.3 - Responsibility for disease prevention and control

(a) Local boards and departments of health shall be primarily responsible for the prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable disease, including disease control in public and private schools, in accordance with the regulations of the board and subject to the supervision and guidance of the department.
(b) The department shall be responsible for the prevention and control of communicable and non-communicable disease in any municipality which is not served by a local board or department of health, including disease control in public and private schools.
(c) If the secretary finds that the disease control program carried out by any local board or department of health is so inadequate that it constitutes a menace to the health of the people within or without the municipalities served by the local board or department of health, he may appoint agents of the department to supervise or to carry out the disease control program of the particular local board or department of health until he determines that the menace to the health of the people no longer exists and that the local board or department of health is able to carry out an adequate disease control program. The secretary shall require that any reasonable expenses incident to the administration of a local disease control program under this subsection, which are incurred by the department, shall be paid to the State by the local board or department of health or by the municipalities or counties which it serves.
