Trump Demotes Brad Parscale, His Campaign Manager
Source: NY Times
President Trump is shaking up his re-election team with less than four months until Novembers vote, replacing his campaign manager, Brad Parscale, in an acknowledgment of the presidents diminished standing in nearly all public and private polling since the spring.
Mr. Parscale, who was named campaign manager unusually early, in February 2018, will step out of the job and Bill Stepien, currently the deputy campaign manager and a veteran political operative, will take over. Mr. Parscale will stay on with the campaign, becoming a senior adviser for data and digital operations.
Jared Kushner, the presidents son-in-law and a senior White House adviser, confirmed the moves Wednesday night, saying: Brad and Bill were both unsung heroes of the 2016 campaign and have done a great job building the infrastructure for the presidents campaign for the 2020 race. Together they both bring unique strengths.
The move comes as Mr. Trumps advantages as an incumbent president have eroded in the face of a pandemic that has killed over 137,000 Americans and battered the nations economy once Mr. Trumps most powerful argument for re-election. The president has been heavily criticized for his handling of the coronavirus, and the halting federal response has deepened the hole in which he finds himself in national and battleground state polling.

A few comments....
First, Trump's failed New Hampshire rally was the final nail in the coffin. The failed Tulsa rally was a big problems, and New Hampshire sealed the deal.
Second, my concern is Stepien may be more competent.

1. It would figure they would identify with the Empire.
2. Never hire someone who makes references to movies they haven't watched all the way through. They blew up the damn thing twice.
I'm kind of the opinion that it would take a campaign super-genius at the top of his game to turn around their campaigning because they not only have to craft good convincing ads and speeches, but they have to convince Trump not to be Trump, and as he knows better than everyone else... well.

(11,087 posts)1) His willingness to work for Trump proves his incompetence right there.
2) Trump himself is the wellspring, the motherlode, the sun source for incompetence. Don't think for a moment he will allow competence anywhere near him.

(7,220 posts)At least that could be their excuse why no one shows up for the GOP convention debacle. Because apparently all the GOP elites are busy washing their hair that week.
PS, I checked he GOP 2020 convention website, and not word one about COVID, masks or social distancing.

Who knew that when the heat of summer arrived, Brad Parscale's job would just disappear, like magic?

Pretty hard to sell an abject failure with a less than 40% approval to a public in the middle of a pandemic they f'd up!
