If he was smart, he'd hit the gas on testing *everyone* and then they could talk about percentage by population, but we're nowhere near that yet.

It is, however, possible that Trump is accidently educating some of those supporters as he bungles their prosperity.

Europe wasn't testing as much as the U.S. to explain the difference in the numbers. But I don't believe he would have found evidence to support that claim.

Note the prediction here: The virus would go away by April.

Feb. 26. Trump made the comment referred to by Acosta during a coronavirus news briefing. Cases: 59 (including passengers repatriated from a cruise ship).

A key point here is that Trump predicted the virus would go away within a couple of days. So Trump’s “it will go down to zero, ultimately” clearly misrepresents what he said at the time.
