Pelosi, Schumer say White House declined $2T coronavirus deal

Source: The Hill

Democratic leaders said Friday that the White House rejected an offer for a roughly $2 trillion coronavirus relief package.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that as part of a closed-door Thursday meeting, Democrats offered to reduce their $3.4 trillion price tag by $1 trillion if Republicans would agree to raise their roughly $1 trillion package by the same amount.

That strategy, effectively trying to split the difference between the two sides, would result in legislation costing between $2 trillion and $2.4 trillion.

"'We'll take down a trillion, if you add a trillion in.' They said absolutely not," Pelosi said during a joint press conference with Senate Minority Leader Charles Schumer

Got most of it. When it’s for states, municipalities and unemployed people to get the bulk of this package, it is time to slam the table and proclaim “hell no”.
When will people recognize that the Republican Parties are not for the common man. They are for corporations, stock holders and billionaires. That is it. The people protected by Citizens United mater. Nothing else, and they aren’t even trying to hide it anymore.

I wouldn't be surprised if Republicans try to stall out the negotiations thru election day, and try to make it a campaign issue.

It was supposed to be the Democrats supplicating to Trump and endorsing what HE wants.

They want the post office to die so people can't vote. And they don't think poor working people are their base, so they could care less if "those people" die with the post office.

Where is "the greatest deal maker in history" in all this? Shouldn't he be sitting down with republican and democratic leaders, hammering out one of his "greatest deals in history"? Where can the president be?

You got it, he's stealing taxpayer's money again, with his army of Secret Service Agents, White House aids and who knows how many more people WHILE TAKING A THREE DAY "VACATION" AT HIS BEDMINSTER GOLF CLUB! You got it! At this time of national emergency Trump is off golfing again, taking things easy, relaxing, and stealing the taxpayers money by the truckload before he's voted out of office. The country is, once again, on auto-pilot while Trump takes care of the things that really matter to him!

What a loathsome piece of shit he is.
