The CIPA Section 4 hearings referenced in the order currently are scheduled to take place on February 12-13.

Trump moved that same day to gain access to the motion. The Special Counsel took the full two weeks allowed to respond to Trump's motion (on December 20) and Trump filed his reply on December 27.

Not sure how that works out to "months" of delay, particularly since the Special Counsel at no point pushed to have the issue resolved expeditiously.

Cannon is a terrible judge, but in this instance the Special Counsel hasn't pushed for a quick ruling.

He might send one of his deputies. On January 30, Smith filed a notice that Deputy Special Counsel J.P. Cooney would be appearing in the case.
