Exclusive: Hotelier Robert Bigelow gives Trump $1 million for legal fees

Source: Reuters

January 30, 2024 5:55 PM EST

Jan 30 (Reuters) - Hotelier Robert Bigelow told Reuters on Tuesday he gave Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump $1 million for his legal fees and agreed to donate another $20 million to a pro-Trump outside group for campaign purposes.

"I gave him $1 million towards his legal fees a few weeks ago. I made a promise to give him $20 million more, that will be to the super PAC," the Nevada-based owner of Budget Suites of America said in an interview.

The commitments, which have not been previously reported, show some big money is coalescing around Trump, the runaway frontrunner to clinch the Republican presidential nomination to face Democrat Joe Biden in the November general election. Bigelow's donations also highlight the unusual role some political donors are playing as Trump faces four pending criminal cases this year.

Those cases include two over his efforts to reverse his 2020 presidential election loss, one over his handling of classified documents upon leaving office and another over his hush money payments to a porn star.

And if he uses money from his super PAC for his personal legal fees, is that misusing campaign funds for personal use, not the campaign…? Is he allowed to use his PACs this way?

Most Americans believe in an afterlife. Eighty-one per cent. See study at Barna.

You could ridicule him for his beliefs in UFOs and get more traction.

Only one problem: you'd also have to throw in Senator Schumer and the late former Senator Harry Reid, too. There's actually a fairly good sized contingent of legislators who want to see if our government is spending money on reverse engineering of UFOs. This is from The Hill and the discussion is going on right now (the link on this story is today, Jan 30, 2024):

snip

In July, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) announced extraordinary bipartisan legislation alleging that surreptitious government “legacy programs” are attempting to reverse-engineer exotic UFOs of “non-human” origin.

In stark contrast to Kirkpatrick’s claim that a “small group” is driving recent UFO-related developments, Schumer stated that a “vast web” of UFO whistleblowers and witnesses informed the eyebrow-raising legislation. Moreover, in remarkable comments on the Senate floor, Schumer cited “multiple credible sources” to allege that elements of the U.S. government have illegally withheld UFO-related information from Congress.

Far from holding an irrational “religious belief” in UFOs, as Kirkpatrick seems to suggest, key members of Congress are dead-set on forcing government transparency on a decades-long mystery. They should be commended and encouraged, not mocked as “true believers.”

snip

I believe I know why Bigelow gave trump the million (it was for legal fees. Bigelow was a DeSantis advocate). It would be concerns over the Israel/Gaza situation. With Biden's latest accomplishments in that area, Bigelow might not have given trump that money; the article notes he gave it a while back.

To understand why he thinks this, you'd have to watch this documentary, available on FreeVee via Amazon Prime: "And Did They Listen?"

p.s. I know you won't watch, but others might. If anyone does watch, keep your ears open for what will happen if the US attacks Iran.

Which would you rather do:

1. Spend a million dollars of your own on legal fees
2. Spend someone else's million dollars on legal fees.

One day, when Trump was between wives, he went to a restaurant that claimed to serve "Hamberders Just Like Your Mother Used To Make." He got one, ate it, liked it, and tipped the server three cents.

The server stopped him as he was going out the door. "Mr. Trump," she said, "I can tell everything about a person by looking at their tips. Would you like me to tell you everything about you?"

"Why yes, of course I would."

"First, I see that you tipped three pennies. Three is a very lucky number so you must be a very lucky man. Would you say that's accurate?"
"I am. Please continue."

"Next, I notice that all these pennies are new and shiny, which means you are a man of the modern era, never wanting to deal with ancient things. We still good?"
"We are. This is interesting."

"I notice all three of them were laid on the table heads up and in a nice straight line, so we know you are smart and meticulous."
"Very much so, yes."

"The first penny shows that you are a thrifty man."
"I am. What about the second?"

"The second shows that you are a bachelor."
"Yes, for now. And about the third?"

"It says your father was a bachelor too, you cheap bastard."

Trump has gone from renting rooms to foreign dignitaries (at inflated prices) to accepting handouts from a bum who rents to his supporters.

If you're going to condemn this guy (and I condemn him, too, just not for the same reasons), then you have to condemn some of our most prominent Democratic representatives. See my post 28.
