Washington Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis and Nathan Wade, a special prosecutor working on the sprawling racketeering case in Georgia against former President Donald Trump and others, have been subpoenaed to answer questions at a hearing next month about allegations the two were involved in an improper romantic relationship.
The subpoenas were issued on behalf of Michael Roman, who was indicted alongside Trump in August and is seeking to have the charges against him dismissed. Roman served as director of election day operations for Trump's 2020 presidential campaign and faces seven counts related to what Fulton County prosecutors alleged was a scheme to overturn the results of Georgia's presidential election.

The subpoenas to Wade and Willis were included in a filing in Fulton County Superior Court by Roman's attorney, which states that he intends to call them as witnesses during a hearing before Judge Scott McAfee on Feb. 15. The subpoenas to Willis and Wade were served Thursday, according to the filing. Ten others also received subpoenas, including several employees in the Fulton County District Attorney's Office.........................................................

oh damn!! Matt and Jim jordan going after Willis.
@RepMattGaetz
BREAKING: I am calling on the House Judiciary Committee to immediately hold hearings on the misuse of federal grants by Fani Willis.
The whistleblower in her office should be allowed to tell her story to the United States Congress, and Fani Willis should have to answer for any misuse of federal grants for personal lavish experiences.
The @JudiciaryGOP would be derelict in not bringing Fani Willis before us for a hearing following the release of this explosive whistleblower transcript and audio. Let's get to the bottom of it.

(216 posts)No one else would take the case because they knew thatd be smeared with stupid nonsense that has nothing to do with the case.
Which is exactly whats happening.
Stop accepting their framing, folks.

(32,006 posts)Why not the prosecutors in Willis' office? That is what they are getting paid for.

(15,611 posts)Bosses hiring someone theyre dating is inappropriate and unethical, period.
The two other prosecutors Willis hired had tons of experience, including with RICO cases; Wade had maybe a years experience in criminal prosecution, and no experience with RICO.
This case is the most important, significant case to come before the Fulton county DAs office, ever, and Willis making this easily avoidable mistake is clear evidence of poor judgement.
The Republicans will bludgeon her with this from now until election day, and if she loses her reelection bid, she could be replaced with someone who could simply drop the entire RICO case against all defendants.
It didnt have to be this way.

(3,522 posts)Yes, GQPers make this look horrible because they're desperate. It's not. Sex is just fine and perfectly legal. Do not fall for all the smoke and mirrors GQPers are using because they're afraid of going to jail. This hearing will come and go and the judge will move on.

(15,611 posts)Except for small family businesses, most companies have strict rules about workplace romances, especially between bosses and employees, and hiring someone you are dating is usually forbidden, or at least requires someone above the hiring managers approval.
If Willis loses reelection because of this, will you still think its much ado about nothing.
