DNC launches mobile billboard attacking Trump on health care ahead of Super Tuesday

Source: The Hill

03/02/24 8:53 AM ET

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) launched a mobile billboard that will appear in North Carolina and Virginia Saturday, attacking former President Trump during his visits to the Super Tuesday states.

The mobile billboard, which was first shared with The Hill, argues that Trump is “coming for your healthcare” if he’s elected to another term. “Medicaid expansion? Gone,” it reads. “Abortion? Banned nationwide.” “IVF? Under attack,” it adds. “Trump-MAGA extremism. Bad for your health.”

The mobile billboard will be on a truck that circles in Greensboro, N.C., on Saturday during the day, from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., and in Richmond, Virginia in the evening, from 5 to 8 p.m.— both as Trump, the likely GOP nominee, is holding rallies in the area.

Both North Carolina and Virginia are holding GOP primaries on Tuesday, when Trump will be on the ballot against primary challenger Nikki Haley. Haley will also be campaigning in North Carolina Saturday, holding a rally in Raleigh.

3. 15 primaries that day...ONE mobile billboard.

I would Imagine a mobile billboard truck would be a rented affair. A couple of people at most to design the graphic package, a small crew to drive/attend/secure the endeavor. Let’s say 10 persons for a truck.

On a day of such important primaries, WHY can the DNC only envision ONE such vehicle covering 2 states for a few hours each to be anything like convincing or adequate??

We’ll all share images of said mobile billboard and smile and say huzzah, but that really won’t change many minds, will it? And changing people’s minds on the streets is the whole point, isn’t it?

Isn’t it??

Honestly, I wonder sometimes…

Per the NYTimes:
Which states will be voting?
This year, 15 states will vote on Super Tuesday: Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia. One territory, American Samoa, will also vote.

45 is visiting those locations in NC and VA where the billboard will be traveling around.

It's called "trolling".

…aside from embarrassing someone who seems impervious to trolling.

6. California is one of the "Super Tuesday" states. What would be the point of having a mobile billboard in my state?

Biden will win CA by more than 25 points in November, like he won in 2020, beating Dumpy the Clown by almost 30 points.

It may be even higher this time around.

Why spend money on a state when you don't need to? Biden will win the state by a large margin regardless.

California is NOT a battleground state, and doesn't need DNC money to combat the useless/worthless RNC operation or Dumpy. It is an inherently D+20 state. Maybe D+30 by November.

NC and VA are instead more worthwhile endeavors. The DNC has a much better chance at fracturing the GOPpers and RNC and blasting Dumpy in those states.

forget that the "average person" is not really paying attention to "politics", let alone to the degree that we do. So the rolling billboards are also aimed at that disinterested populace to cut through some of the lack of fulsome media coverage of the draconian positions held by the GOP vs Democrats (along with the trolling of our arch enemies)!

In this particular case, 45 is speaking at those locations in NC and VA today, so the trucks are rolling around where he will be. I expect similar may happen on Super Tuesday in swing states if available and as needed (and I recall that there were even banner planes that flew around rally locations in earlier-voting states that did something similar).

Any way to get "messaging" out (in addition to radio/TV/streaming/social media ads) is a bonus.
