Trump says he would testify in upcoming hush money trial

Source: CNBC

Published Fri, Apr 12 2024 5:55 PM EDT Updated 14 Min Ago

Donald Trump said Friday that he would testify under oath in his criminal hush money trial, which is set to begin in New York on Monday. “All I can do is tell the truth,” said Trump, who is charged with 34 counts of falsifying business records, “and the truth is that there’s no case.”

The presumptive Republican presidential nominee spoke at a press conference with House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., at Trump’s Florida resort home Mar-a-Lago.

The trial — the first ever against a former president — centers on a hush money payment in late 2016 to porn star Stormy Daniels, who says she had an extramarital affair with Trump years earlier.

Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg accuses Trump of facilitating that payment and others to unlawfully hide information from voters ahead of the 2016 presidential election, which Trump would go on to win. Trump is expected to be in court throughout the trial, which could last over six weeks.

There is no way Trump is going under oath and opening himself up to being cross examined. Bragg has him
by the balls with the 34 felony charges against him, the receipts, and the witnesses he has lined up too.

Btw before he quit Trump’s lawyer told him to his face if he testified on the stand then he would be wearing an
orange prison jump suit.

He'll razzle-dazzle everyone and make Bragg look like an idiot. He'll be braying about his usual poutrages rather than answering what he's asked, and then will be shocked when Bragg objects--especially when the judge backs up the objection.

'Just answer the question, and don't go off on tangents.'

And that's before Bragg gets him for cross-examination.

By Ximena Bustillo, D. Parvaz

Former President Donald Trump says he will not be testifying as planned in the civil trial over allegations that he lied about his wealth.

"I have already testified to everything & have nothing more to say," wrote Trump on his social media site Truth Social on Sunday.

Trump took the stand last month, but was slated to testify for the defense on Monday ...

"there's no case."

That's what he'd testify to, if he was on the witness stand.

And the judge would say, "case dismissed", because there's no argument against irrefutable evidence like that!

Trump is truly suffering (doesn't that phrase alone bring joy to your heart?) from dementia if this is how the case is going to go in his mind. This is his version of the truth. "There is no case."

CASE DISMISSED!
