I was there this morning. It's unbelievable this has happened. There's a clip of a man carrying a bollard confronting the attacker on an escalator. He's so brave and I hope he's okay.

It's another act of senseless violence that makes us feel less safe every day.

They cite it "proof" that knives are deadlier than guns, especially when the so-called "RKBA" is restricted.

But the NRA's silly claim (too often echoed even on DU, alas) is that knives are as deadly as guns. To which I ask them to name for me one army in the past century that has chosen to arm its military with knives instead of guns.

There is no reason people on this modern era need to be carrying knives around in public places.

Anything that wouldn’t be allowed by TSA on an airplane isn’t necessary for roaming around an indoor mall, in my opinion.

this morning. She is safe and her children are safe but I don't know if she was there or not, just safe is good for me to know. She is quite angry as is understandable.

Unless he was swinging a machete, there are a ton of items in a mall to defend with. Even a chair from the food court would make a good weapon to swing around. I mean, the sick bastard stabbed a baby! I'd die fighting to protect my child.
