Gainesville police officer arrested for child sex crimes

GAINESVILLE, Texas (KXII) - A Gainesville police officer was arrested on Thursday on criminal charges.

According to a press release from the Gainesville Police Department, Officer Dustin Duncan was arrested following an indictment for alleged indecency with a child by sexual contact.

Duncan was immediately removed from police duty, the release stated. After the arrest, Duncan handed his resignation in to the department.

The Cooke County Sheriff’s Office has taken over the ongoing investigation. No further details have been released.........................................

Once they are employed, are they being looked after by professionals to make sure they are mentally ok? Law enforcement officers see the worst of human nature and I’m sure they’re horrified by some things but are they being treated to interviews for their mental health or to work out their issues?

Isn’t related to any on-the-job/job-related PTSD. This is shit that’s hardwired in the brain, and pre-existed his employment as a cop. Pre-employment psychiatric evaluations might have caught a hint, but I’m not sure. Those are geared towards weeding out the power hungry goons, domestic violence-types, etc.,
