Zelensky says the US is 'not funding' war in Ukraine

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated Sunday that the United States is “not funding” war in his country, emphasizing that the U.S. is helping protect democracy throughout the region.

NBC host Kristen Welker asked Zelensky on “Meet the Press” how long Americans can expect
to fund the war in Ukraine,” noting that there has been some strong opposition to sending additional aid to the country. Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is doing the fighting and the U.S. is only providing the munitions.

“The Americans are not funding the war in Ukraine. They foremost protect freedom and democracy all over Europe. And Ukraine is fighting. And Ukraine is sending their best sons and daughters to the front line. And this reduces the price for all Europe, for all NATO,” Zelensky said, speaking through a translator, on NBC News.

“It reduces the price for everyone, including the U.S. as the leaders in NATO. U.S. Army now does not have to fight protecting NATO countries. Ukrainians are doing that. And it’s only the ammo that the civilized world is providing. And I think it’s a good decision. That is why we do need to keep supporting,” he continued.

thus fueling our economy. And even further, we have to replenish our own stocks once we ship arms to Ukraine.

I'm sure it was an accident, to let Z shine on her program. It certainly wasn't intended on her part -- nor her bosses.

we're helping fund Ukraine's defenses, along with many other western countries, the ones funding the war are Russia, China, Iran.
The only ridiculous statement here is yours.

You said we're funding the war, which is straight out of the Russian playbook, I said we're not funding the war, we're helping to fund the defense of Ukraine, the ones funding the war are Russia, which started the war in the first place and China and Iran are also funding Russia's war of aggression.
But do carry on with the Russian talking points, it's quite entertaining.

but, unlike you, I'm not naive to think that we can sit down and negotiate with tyrants like Putin, Xi, etc.
There are times when military has to be used to stop tyrants who are bent on the destruction of democracy, like what's happening in Ukraine right now.

13. Russia said the war would be over if the US stopped sending weapons

Well, we did stop for 6 months and Russia still regularly got its clock cleaned when it tried to advance and grab more land.

I think that's one reason the Republicans started to play hardball against the Klown Kaucus and its boy Johnson. I think Johnson's ass kissing trip to Mara Lardo was to inform TFG that the opposition to Ukraine aid had collapsed completely. It was pretty obvious that TFG didn't like what he was told, flattery not deodorizing any of it.

I said from the beginning that had Russia thrown everything it had into this war and actually taken the country, the Ukrainians would have bled them dry over time. That hasn't changed. Russia will never win.
