New York City Controller Scott Stringer refused to OK the deal with CGI to overhaul New Yorks 311 hotline. The News earlier reported the contract was approved hours before Mayor de Blasio took office and that rival companies questioned CGIs qualifications.

(8,821 posts)How corrupt and completely bought-off do you have to be to wish that bunch of incompetents on the people of your own damn city? To quote the official NYC 311 web site:
311's mission is to provide the public with quick, easy access to all New York City government services and information while maintaining the highest possible level of customer service.
We help agencies improve service delivery by allowing them to focus on their core missions and manage their workload efficiently.
. . . and take in a pile of money from CGI kickbacks for certain city officials, they might well have added.
