(CNN) -- It was the day after Thanksgiving 2012, and Michael Dunn had just left his son's wedding. He'd had two drinks but wasn't buzzed, and he and his girlfriend were in a "great mood" -- headed to a nice bed and breakfast in St. Augustine, Florida, where they planned to enjoy a bottle of wine, he told police.
A stop at a Jacksonville gas station would flip the happy day on its head. His car doors and windows shut, he was annoyed by the "heavy bass" coming from a nearby SUV and asked four teens to turn it down.

This one's apparently known as the "loud music murder trial." It occurred at a gas station. Why this guy couldn't just ignore what he said was loud music coming from the other car is beyond me. He wasn't going to be there long anyway.

It seems as though the law in Florida is that if one is white and has a dispute with an black youth, one may fire at will and it isn't murder or even manslaughter.
I can sympathize with this man insofar as I don't like loud music, either. However, that's not a reason to take human life. I'd buy my gas, get out of there and find someplace quiet to eat.

How about you leave well alone and buy your damned gas?

(53,661 posts)Nothing to get into someone's face about. This is about this guy's sense of entitlement. He thought it was his gawd-given right to control POC. His jail writings are posted in another thread. He's got a lot of ideas on how blacks should behave.
Excuse the hell outta me!
It was cold blooded murder. Any claim he was drunk does not count, as he wasn't too far gone to drive.
Fer crying out loud, the car windows were up and there was no danger. All he had to do was gas his car up and go.
Anything else is bullshit!
This is even worse than Z.

I direct you to this quote:
It's spooky how racist everyone is up here and how biased toward blacks the courts are. This jail is full of blacks and they all act like thugs," he notes. He goes on to say "This may sound a bit radical but if more people would arm themselves and kill these **** idiots when they're threatening you, eventually they may take the hint and change their behavior,"

(217 posts)I know Florida has a bad reputation with the stand your ground law. But this is open and shut jail time. He screwed up every way possible, he could have ignored the music, he could have left, then he shot as the youths were driving away. He is going to do time.
