Airbus plans factory in Alabama!

An Alabama plant would enable Airbus to produce planes squarely in the territory of archrival Boeing Co. It would likely mean lower production costs compared with Airbus' European A320 production lines in Toulouse, France, and Hamburg, Germany. The company also makes A320s in China.

I know Honda pays rather well. My cousin works for them and feels they treat him well, good pay, good benefits.

This is exactly why Airbus and Boeing have located their new plants in "right to work" states. It's good that there will be some new jobs in Alabama - but I think it's sad that those jobs won't ever be the equivalent of the good union jobs that are no longer available because of the anti-union legislation of most southern states and an increasing number of other states.

Plenty of good, hardworkin' folks in Alabama - but Airbus is gonna blow a gasket when they deal with the "wish they still owned slaves" branch of the managing class. I worked for a company who made equipment used in aircraft repair & rebuilding, and service work from the Southeast was a trip........
