Today's Tiedrich rant: what the fuck does NBC think they're doing?

Link: https://www.jefftiedrich.com/p/what-the-fuck-does-nbc-think-theyre

hey, remember Chuck Fucking Todd? remember what a worthless hack he was? never pushed back, rarely asked a follow-up, loved to both-sides the shit out of every issue.

remember how relieved we were when the Chuckster announced he was stepping down as host of Meet the Press? remember how much we were looking forward to his replacement, Kristen Welker? remember how hopeful we were that actual journalism might finally take place on Sunday mornings?

and then Kristen did her first show, and who did she have as her guest? Donald Fucking Trump.

it was a five-alarm embarrassment. Welker got steamrolled by Trump. he sat there and spewed lie after lie, and an overmatched Welker just let it happen. instead of journalism, we got Chuck Todd Lite.

Great rant here, and Tiedrich clarifies that NBC - the parent company - hired McDaniel, however MSNBC - the affiliated cable channel - has no intention of putting her on the air. So that's a good sign for regular viewers of MSNBC.

But before "The Apprentice" give him national exposure, he would have never gotten the votes. So I believe you're right, it was the TV show on NBC that made him look "good."

That only happened because Mark Burnett never told the real story. Chump should have been fired after the first few episodes, he was so terrible. Burnett used massive editing and backwards-rewriting to make Chump into a "star."
