Biden campaign says it sees Florida as 'winnable' in 2024
(snip)
The campaign plans to try to tether Trump to a series of policy measures enacted by DeSantis and Floridas GOP-dominated Legislature in recent years, including the states abortion bans, a rewiring of the states education system which made it easier for people to flag books in school libraries they want banned and those that targeted the states LGBTQ communities.
Biden's team wants to juxtapose those measures against things like Florida leading the nation in Affordable Care Act enrollment, and that the state received $15.6 billion from the presidents infrastructure bill to fund 581 projects.
Bolstering Bidens efforts in a state that many see as not being in play is Democrats massive cash advantage over Trump and national Republican committees. At the start of March, Democrats had $155 million in the bank, compared with $42 million available to Trumps operation.
(snip)
From a cruel and dangerous abortion ban and overt attacks on seniors to soaring costs caused by Republican politics, Donald Trumps platform is uniquely unpopular with the voters who will decide this election in the Sunshine State, Chávez Rodríguez wrote. "Our campaign is primed and ready to seize on the opportunity.

(597 posts)2. The good thing about Florida and Ohio: they're not must-wins anymore.
With Virginia + Colorado/New Mexico (and hopefully Nevada), Biden just needs to win the states Kerry won in 2004 and he wins reelection.

(16,513 posts)6. He may be pretty much headed that way, due to Florida's term limits.
He can't run for reelection as governor of Florida, and since he failed miserably at running for potus, he hasn't really got anywhere else to go!!
