Trump was unhinged during first week of hush money trial. He'll only get weirder.

Rex Huppke, USA TODAY

For perhaps the first time in his life, Donald Trump had to spend a week shutting up.

There was one place he had to be – a Manhattan criminal courtroom – and he couldn’t come and go as he pleased. He couldn’t talk. He couldn’t send inflammatory social media posts from his phone.

He just had to sit there and listen as “the people of the state of New York vs. Donald J. Trump” began and jurors were selected to decide whether the former president falsified business records as part of a scheme to silence a former adult-film star and influence the 2016 presidential election.

Tough-guy Trump sure did a lot of bellyaching his first week on trial

Trump was clearly shocked to learn standing trial on criminal charges comes with certain inconveniences.

1. Al Sharpton had the guy who wrote art of the deal Tony Schwartz on and he said he regrets writing that book

But he thinks TFA (the f’g a hole) will implode during this trial and lose it and will wake up some of supporters.

He said TFA has no self control and it will be a show to see him lose it as the stress mounts. I think his handlers wouldn’t let him go to his North Carolina rally yesterday because they were afraid he’d make his case worst by attacking the judge and threatening the jury.

Trump is going to act out even more.
He will get much worse before this is over.

I had the same thought.
Trump's minders or Trump himself put the breaks on the rally.
The minders were afraid of Trump would do there.

Or Trump is crashing and burning and couldn't get on the airplane.

This is torture for someone like Trump.

He is getting punished just in the trial phase.

It would certainly get the highest ratings (viewership) of his miserable life. Or at least some camera to catch the meltdown, but I think it’s for the best. Not having an audience will no doubt drive him crazy. All people will see are those sketches and read what reporters are saying.

If he did in fact deduct the payment to Cohen as a legal expense, the interest and penalty will make him scream in agony even if he doesn't go to prison for tax fraud.
