He has the correct idea about the economic system.
I have seen him at the Left Forum in NYC, and heard him many times on Alternative Radio. It's always an enlightening and refreshing perspective on things.

One thing he said that stuck in my head after this was that IF the idea of democracy was so American, why wouldn't it have taken root in the workplace?

That reveals the lie of American "democracy" very well.

Marked as favorite for future reference. Powerful presentation. Democratic socialism is the only form of government that both ensures our freedom and our survival but only if the intent if for the common good of all.Start with a billionaires tax. Anything over a billion goes back to the treasury. Mindful of the environment we all live in and wages keep up with productivity. Level the playing field with a transaction tax on wall street transactions; get rid of Citizens United and have public finance of elections which forces the media...our media....to give free air time to candidates and debates with election cycles or campaigns to only last 3 months...National single payer health care...and start a department of peace which funds building of hospitals, schools. and infrastructure to ensure a moral humanitarian effort aimed at ending suffering sickness and poverty.

We have solutions but the greedy and selfish stand in the way of progress.

The only exception that I take is with the billionaires' tax. I think that the maximum income, from all sources should be limited to, say, two million a year (just an example). ALL financial assets should not be more than a certain amount. The rest is taxable at 100%.

Capitalist system: He backed off enough to see the big picture and also praised OWS as the group that started to examine our economic system, not just the details of capitalism. I'm gonna put this on my FB, just sayin'.

I think by now I could give Richard Wolff's speech myself, after having seen so much of him. Which is good, because that's exactly what I'm set to do

Though I haven't seen Wolff a great number of times, I can give a talk about his ideas.
Perhaps I should get back on my soap box, and start preaching this.
