Indiana Pizzeria becomes the first to openly deny services to gays

Last edited Thu Apr 2, 2015, 09:26 AM - Edit history (3)

Indiana Republicans like Gov. Mike pence shamelessly deny that their "Religious Liberty" law will allow legal discrimination against gays and lesbians, but legal experts and the facts say otherwise.

UPDATE:
Right wing trolls are attacking the reporter who quoted the restaurant manager
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2015/04/proud-of-yourself-sweetie-trolls-attack-reporter-who-quoted-anti-lgbt-pizza-shop-owner/

Additionally, RW media is chiming in with their spin; I didn't bother clicking any of the links, but Breitbart and PJ Media have some laughably outrageous headlines today...

Meanwhile Salon reports that the owners of memories Pizza have announced they will be closing indefinitely over the backlash: http://www.salon.com/2015/04/02/anti_lgbt_indiana_pizza_shop_closes_indefinitely_amidst_protest/

The worst place on earth, BUGS! ACTUAL BUGS, Creeping and crawling all over my pizza. I just COULD NOT believe it. What sort of establishment allows BUGS! ACTUAL BUGS! To be involved with the making of a pizza? BUGS JERRY! BUGS!

Wrong, very wrong. I will NOT be returning!

I had the single most horrific experience of my life!
I wanted some pizza after my klan rally so of course it was memories pizza. I know we are supposed to be anonymous and all that but whatever!
I ordered a nice hot and steamy not gay and extra mozzarella cause I only consume white cheese because it is the superior cheese. And resting on top of my pepperoni was a tooth! I was shocked, but relieved it was a white tooth. Apparently it belonged to the girl behind the counter.
I went to return it to her and she was making out with this woman and screaming it was a choice!
It seems to me this restaurant has gone downhill.
I plan to tell my klan friends about this and we will be eating our white cheese elsewhere!

On edit: Ooh, and another good one:

I'm ANGRY and will never order pizza from these people again because they're simply not discriminatory enough! I mean, just "gays"? What about anyone who works on Sundays (Leviticus 23:3)? People who wear makeup (Jeremiah 4:30)? Hungry people (Proverbs 23:2)? Men without beards (Leviticus 19:27)? Tattooed people (Leviticus 19:28)? People who eat shellfish (Leviticus 11:10)? People with messy hair (Leviticus 10:6)? New mothers (Leviticus 12:4-5)? Psychics or mediums (Leviticus 20:27)?

Also, I hope there's absolutely NO FAT in your food! (Leviticus 3:17) Because that would surely be sinful!!

And, lastly, you'd better not eat your own pizza, because if you've read the Bible, you certainly understand that in 1 Peter 2:1, God specifically instructed you to "rid yourselves of all malice and all deceit, hypocrisy, envy, and slander of every kind." (That means you're supposed to lay aside ALL malice or ill will, like denying certain people service, you morons.)

My Hispanic wife and I walked in to a very busy, prosperous restaurant in the Yellowstone Park area, and they had hundreds of American flag objects, mugs, motorcycles, hats, everything you could imagine in redneck white and blue colors; and we were never so uncomfortable in our lives (except maybe driving up from Mexico in Texas).

Everyone was staring the whole time we were there and I felt the hate and anger in their eyes the whole time we were there. We ate and got the hell out of there as fast as we could.

These ignorant, hateful "religious hypocrites" are THICK in the country. An ugly, ugly part of AmeriKKKa. Sick sons-of-bitches. It's why America is still stuck in the 50's...bigoted, bible-thumping racists and homophobes.

Their star quarterback of the local football team could be gay. The Pastor's daughter could be a lesbian. My "gaydar" has been seriously off before regarding people. The idea that a gay man is going to walk in with a lisp and wearing a feather boa are very stereotyped as well as the lesbian who walks in with 80's hair and holding a wrench (lol). Back in college days some 15yrs ago, I was having to ask, sign, status, gay? You shouldn't just assume. And I've been hit on by women and men alike, I'm actually flattered that I sparkle enough to the world that someone would like to get closer... (It's not exactly like these idiots can be as discriminating as they could to people with darker skin shades; people don't typically wander around with "gay" tatooed on their forehead... and I doubt this town features any gay bars or clubs so they would "know who's going there", and even then its really hard to tell. My bf and I in college had some really great friends that were gay. We would go with them to the gay bar or go to a drag queen show event.)

I've been to a lot of gay wedding too, but they are FABULOUS.

Straight weddings range from very good to yucko. I've been to weddings where there were pitchers of beer -- cheap beer -- on the head table. I've had some pretty forgettable food. I've had food that was a school cafeteria quality. But at least people tried to put on a meal. I have been to potluck wedding receptions (which I really, really like). I have never had takeout pizza. Maybe I just travel in elite circles.

Perfect example of how backwards this country remains, in the country. You wonder why they vote repuKKKe? Bible-thumping, backward hypocrites.

Drive through the country, outside of major metropolitan cities, and the airwaves are chuck full of bible-thumping garbage, and absent of ANY progressive voices....even NPR in much of the landscape. These poor, dumb haters are lost, and this is a major reason why this country is fucked up.

I feel no pity for these ignorant fools, only disgust.

He claims he chose to lead a heterosexual lifestyle. Of course we all know you don't choose who you love or what gender. So possibly he is just fearful of the temptation if gay people frequented his pizzeria.

It doesn't take to much contemplation to realize Jesus was gay. So these Christians wouldn't serve Jesus if he walked in off the street.

“If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no,” Crystal said as she stood in the restaurant, which is festooned with Christian paraphernalia."

If any gay couple ever planned to serve pizza at a wedding, they would have their official gay membership cards revoked for failure to maintain standards of taste expected of any self-respecting LGBT person!
