(14,449 posts)So boring but I think many find it a great movie and would think it would go to far and actually hurt the progress going on right now. Best to leave that be for now at least.

Unfortunately, the racist fantasy involved pretty dresses, popular actors and beautiful cinematography, so it was a big smash.
Twelve Years a Slave was disturbingly real. Not exactly a date movie.
