Steve Hartman reports: 1967 to Today - Same Sex Marriage



in 1967, CBS News aired a documentary called "CBS Reports: The Homosexuals." In light of the Supreme Court's ruling on same-sex marriage, CBS News' Steve Hartman took a look at that film to see just how much attitudes to gays have changed.



The first marriage in Dallas after the Supreme Court ruling:



85 year old Jack Evans and 82 year old George Harris were the first gay couple to get married in Dallas after the Supreme Court ruling legalizing same sex marriage nationwide.

Follow-up note: Regarding the 85 year old Jack Evans and 82 year old George Harris (from marriage ceremonys video), it was reported the couple met at a house party 54 years ago and have been together ever since. They told of times when the police used to set up sting operations to target gay men. For example, Evans said police staged a party where they arrested 19 people and then published their names their names in the Dallas Times Herald the next day, on a Sunday morning. Every one of those guys had to leave the city.
