(28,498 posts)Can't any more. The aromas offend my co-workers.
I've been told to take my lunches/dinners to the "break room"--a room in the basement set aside for employees. Tables & chairs, vending machines, but no windows. Or computers.
I used to eat at my work space while perusing the news and DU on my computer. But not anymore. The aromas offend my co-workers.

(41,872 posts)only allowed me 30 minutes for lunch, while Execs took an hour.. and they were mostly liquid lunches. Nothing like the boss smelling of Vodka..after we sipped on soup from a cup either at our desk, or in some small crowded windowless cubicle set aside for us. I hated it.. No vacation days, few sick days, just slave at your desk for 8 hours..with a half hour lunch. No overtime paid, and worked weekends as well. Screw that noise, I left for something better.
People work longer hours in Japan they told me.. maybe so, but I bet they weren't chained to their desks, and the boss took them out for Sake on him, after hours.
