Related: About this forumThom Hartmann: Shut up Mitt...you have your own Solyndra!
Richard Fowler, f joins Thom Hartmann. The Romney campaign might have to shelve their untruthful Solyndra attacks for a little while. You might remember last week - Romney appeared outside the headquarters of Solyndra - to attack the President over a federal investment gone awry at the now-bankrupt solar company. Nevermind the fact that the government investment represented less than 1% of all the investments made by the Department of Energy in renewable companies. And nevermind the fact that the investment originiated under the Bush administration - and not the Obama Administration. Romney's never been good with the facts - and I've said it before - and I'll say it again - the only way Mitt Romney can win the White House is by lying. But now - Romney has some explaining to do on his own when it comes to failed investments in solar companies. As the Boston Herald reports - as Governor of Massachusetts - Romney ALSO invested taxpayer dollars into a green company that went belly-up. In 2003 - Romney appeared outside solar company Konarka Technologies - calling for more grants for the renewable energy sector. But after a $1.5 million investment by the state - Konarka filed for bankruptcy - laying off its entire staff - and liquidating all of its assets. So when Romney attacks President Obama for a similarly failed investment at Solyndra - hes also attacking himself.

(47,675 posts)3. Lowell? LOWELL? Yo, Mittens - have you ever even BEEN TO LOWELL?
The first time I was there was in '89. I parked near the center (where I could find a garage) and walked to Gallagher station guided mostly by drunks and nuns - didn't see any other sorts of people, but I look like Tommy Chong so I fit right in with the drunks. I remember it being a LONG walk with a 5 or 6 story string of factory buildings with broken windows. As the station came into view, I noticed a sign on the end of the last building that said "NOW LEASING!" Um, yeah. I doubt Rmoney has ever set foot in the place. It isn't a hotbed for technology. What that town needs is solid stable jobs, not wet dreams.
