(449 posts)Hoping some day we can live in that more idealistic society. Be kind to others, understanding, etc.
Maybe some day it'll catch on.

(24,010 posts)It is so moving. It is so right. It is so genuine. It is the best of our humanity. Imagine a politician saying this. Imagine having a president who says this: "When you hurt, I hurt. That is my religion."
"We won't get another chance." That is probably the truth, for Mother Earth and all her children and for our country. We get THIS chance to elect someone as president who is not only politically savvy and highly experienced on policy issues and legislation, and not only has the big heart and soul of an FDR, but has thought things through all his life, has read and studied and looked around him, and has come to this conclusion: "When you hurt, I hurt. That is my religion."
How can we NOT elect this man president? How can we deny ourselves this kind of leadership and inspiration? Yeah, our system is very, very, very messed up--but Sanders is showing the way through the maze of corruption and wrong turns that our society has taken, to reclaiming our sovereignty as a people and our full dignity as human beings and citizens. It can be done. He has taken on the practical tasks of doing it. He is throwing such energy into it that that alone is an amazing phenomenon: Sanders on the road. Sanders doing three rallies a day. Sanders almost always bright as a penny, this 74 year old man with the impossible schedule. "What are you doing for others?"
"When you hurt, I hurt. That is my religion."
