(24,133 posts)I have a question. Don't folks like Beck think everything is "God's will"? And if so, then didn't god want Cruz to lose? He must have also wanted Barack Obama to be elected twice.

(18,837 posts)The article quoted his father. Basically said the three of them spent two hours on their knees and at the end Heidi "received a word," which was "Seek My face, not My hand," which they all took to mean that the Lord personally anointed Cruz to be President.
I know, stay with me on this.
So anyway, yes...folks like Beck think everything is "God's will."
But the problem is that Beck (and Cruz, and his wife, and his father) convinced themselves that it was God's will.
A couple of DUers...don't remember who, would give credit if I did...made the very astute observation while all of this was going on that maybe it was God's will for Cruz to do this and get his ass handed to him as a much-needed lesson in humility.
And I can get behind that.

(24,133 posts)...thread that perhaps god wanted Ted to run but not to win and thereby be taught a lesson about arrogance. In that case, good job, god!
What's that thing about if you talk to god, you are praying, but igfgod is talking to you, you are delusional.
After 2 hours on her knees, Heidi probably would have said anything just to be able to stand up straight. The way she stares up adoringly at Ted reminds me of Nancy and Ronnie -
