Did the woman want the transfer? Did she want to stay in her faith-based position or prefer to transfer to her new position? Was she given choice; did she exercise choice?
Was docking the harasser several months pay a suitable or unsuitable punishment? Were there written policies regarding harassment and were they followed?

(206,872 posts)Odd that it suddenly came up after all this time - but it appears that the MSM is jumping all over this, yet have yet to answer these pertinent questions. I hesitated in posting this one, but I have been posting The Dally Show when it's on. And the Daily Show writers came up with this, not me. I don't know anymore than anyone else.

Tanker disaster in East China Sea could be worlds worst oil spill in 35 years

(6,050 posts)I don't even know if it was incorporated. It did seem to have written procedures to follow re harassment-as per the attorney statement. The offender was fined several months pay are required to undergo counseling.
The offense reported was apparently in 2008 and the punishment meted out at that time.-campaign of 2008.
Many years late in sometime between 2013 and 206 the offender was hired by a separate organization that was related to but not an organizational part of Clinton campaign for 2016 a similar workplace offense.
I see no evidence that he was kept on for eight years by the Clinton campaign 2008 to re-offend and then fired.
The attorneys for Clinton campaign 2008 issued a statement that there were workplace policies in effect in the 2008 campaign organization and that they were adhered to.
If so, why would fining him instead of hiring in 2008 be a mistake? Organizations are required to follow due process in accordance with their policies.
If the reporter think the lawyers statement was not accurate, why would she not dispute it and bring forth evidence?
I think reporting should be based upon facts and it is the responsibility of the reporter and the editor to gather the facts.
As written the NYT news story did not report the facts. It leaves us to guess and try to fill in the blanks with our imaginations. there is no news there-it is a propaganda piece.

(32,619 posts)process in place to handle such a problem. Few campaigns have a procedure of any type in place and the staffers know they might be fired any day and not even be allowed a stipend to pay their cost of getting back home.
Also of note, the source for Maggie's article was a fired employee. An ax to grind?
