In Los Angeles we are not allowed to catch them even if they tear our roofs and houses up. Racoons eat smaller animals including kittens. I don't ever let my cat out at night because racoons and coyotes are everywhere in Los Angeles.

Uggggh.

They are not friendly animals, and in my opinion, they don't belong in the city. But . . . . the city thinks otherwise so I behave myself.

Not friendly animals. They tear up my garden . . . . Very cute faces, but very destructive when hungry.

For as cute as they can look, they are extremely smart, determined and destructive.

Right. We have avocado trees in our back yard. The raccoons love them.

They are actually rather cute animals but I'm glad I don't have to encounter them up close.

One night I was very sick with a skin allergy and could not sleep. So I spent the night in the living room. In the wee hours of the morning, I heard high-pitched sounds under the floor...... In the crawl space under the living room (no basement in that part of our house), a raccoon mother had set up household, given birth, and was, from the noises I heard, nursing her babies. We called someone to evict the raccoon family and secure our house. In the middle of Los Angeles. Unbelievable. They are very cute and very smart, but what pests they are in the city.

way through and was driven to back out, or else I would have faced a terrible fight with the family of them in the close quarters of that small room, I know that I would have required medical attention after that bloody mess.

When a raccoon exhibits unusual behavior in the daytime, that's usually a sign that you may have a rabid raccoon.

Around here, they tend to be fat & happy. Maybe urban Minnesota raccoons are scrappier, but I agree that it did not look like the best specimen.

someone would have posted showing the raccoon free-falling 25 stories to a splat ending on the sidewalk.

If it was Trump in a free-fall tumble down the steps of Air Force 1, then I'd watch, but not a wild fur baby.
