Lawrence O'Donnell: One Senator Could Block Donald Trump's Supreme Court Pick -The Last Word - MSNBC

24 hours before Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement from the Supreme Court, Sen. Jeff Flake said that he would block Trump judicial nominations over tariffs. Lawrence says that if Flake holds strong, he could take down a radical Trump nominee to the Court. Ron Klain, Neera Tanden, and Jill Wine-Banks join.

we are fine and truly screwed bc these two sisters are about as reliable as...I don't even know what.
They will come through. This will happen unless we stop it pending the election. If we allow it to go to a hearing and a vote...we are surely F'd. Do what Mitch did, and get lost...that's what the gop did. Made a statement of intent, and they all ran for home the end of last year.

and if frogs had wings they wouldn't be bumping their asses on the ground hopping. I have absolutely NO faith in any Republican when it comes to doing what's right, and not doing what's politically expedient for them. Flake will get a promise of a high paying lobbying job, a promise of an ambassadorship, a promise of something, and his "ethics" will go down the shitter, as usual.

Fucking Republicans!

Then add to that others who are fed up with trump and Mitch and they could switch parties becoming a Democrat after no longer accepting what trump has done to the GOP, then they could retake control of the Senate , away from Mitch and trump, and refuse anything they wanted , including any Justice picks. McCain is another one I think would also put country first and do this to stop them from destroying our democracy. I don't think this is over yet.

But he said that now he's too sick to participate.

And I also think that Lawrence made an excellent point, sounded good to me, but we'll have to see if Jeff Flake - or Susan Collins and Lisa Murkowski - have the courage of their convictions, or John McCain.
