A 35-year-old bell.
It seems that tRump's bitch McConnell's first campaign for a Senate seat in 1984, ran this TV ad, attacking his opponent, incumbent Senator Walter "Dee" Huddleston:
From Talking Points Memo's January 18 article:
But the Kentucky Republican, who is up for re-election in 2020 in a state where Trump tends to be more popular than he is, sees no other choice than to stand back and let the president who took the country into the shutdown decide how he wants to get out of it.
...
Democrats wonder whatever happened to the mastermind of earlier legislative logjams. After all, the 30-year veteran of the Senate devised the way out of a debt ceiling crisis when tea party Republicans challenged then-President Obama; he brokered the deal with then-Vice President Joe Biden to avert the so-called fiscal cliff.
A few years ago, Leader McConnell remarked, Remember me? Im the guy that gets us out of shutdowns,' said Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, unearthing an interview McConnell did some years ago. Well, Leader McConnell, nows the time . allow a vote on legislation and reopen the government.
(Emphasis added)
I'd say it's about time to get a new set of bloodhounds onto the trail of a missing Senator.

(4,292 posts)Long-term memory is great, but short-term... not so much. (Now, where did I leave my phone?)
How do we get this clip onto the screens of writers for Rachel Maddow, Chris Matthews, Lawrence ODonnell, Joe Scarborough and -- most of all -- Stephen Colbert? I'm not on Twitter, but I'm hoping another DUer is and would share the clip accordingly.
Not to mention providing it to the Democratic contender for Kentucky's Senate seat next year.

(206,884 posts)Stephen himself was quite excited to have her on - it was a last minute scheduling, think he announced it Friday. She was on once before, but he's wanted to have her back, especially now. She also often figures in his monologues, you can tell that with her attitude, she's his kind of guest!

(17,392 posts)That was quite the lengthy ovation. She's becoming more of a "rock star" than most rock stars, and deservedly so. She can make a greater difference in many lives than entertainers.

(15,299 posts)LOL! Love her, she smart, doesn't talk down to people and knows her stuff. I'm glad Pelosi and the rest of her leadership team aren't trying very hard to rein her in. She's doing a terrific job getting Democratic points across.
