Seth did a bang up job on that one! What a complete train wreck! I just can't believe this is still going on and none of the principal players are in prison yet. Someday, they will make a movie of this and it will be a great comedy. Until then, we have people like Seth to keep us sane!

Thanks for posting Rhiannon!

He really has been stepping up to the plate - not just with his "Closer Look" segments, but tonight he has Senator Sherrod Brown on and tomorrow he has former Senator Claire McCaskill!

And I can't believe that this is still going on, either! I got home earlier today - just in time because the rain had turned to ice when I stepped out of my car - and had MSNBC on all night starting with Ari Melber. If anyone had come up with this saga as a movie plot, no one would believe it!

for my parents 50th anniversary surprise party. It has finally warmed up here in Boston, but it's raining, however I think it is freezing up there and they are expecting snow. I am not looking forward to more cold after the recent deep freeze, but I am a dutiful daughter and don't want to let my parents and siblings down.

It's only January and I am already so tired of winter! My parents leave for Florida the Monday after the party and invited me down for a week, but I don't like to fly and I really don't like the beach that much (don't like the direct sun and heat). Also, they are kind of controlling and treat me like I am 12 years old so it's not really relaxing for me, so I think I might pass even though I would like to get out of this weather for a while.

Anyway, hope you are staying warm and dry!

And we got seriously walloped with snow over the weekend. The paper said my area got 19.2 inches, but it looks like more to me! The snowbanks are already so high that it's tough to pull out in traffic - already - and though the roads are plowed, they're not clear yet. I've just been going a lot slower, it's still treacherous in a lot of places.

They predicted freezing rain and "ice pellets" starting this afternoon. It was mainly rain when I was out, but it's freezing up now that the temperature has dropped. I got home just before 6 and it was quite slippery by then. It's supposed to continue through tomorrow so I'd check before you go. The rain is supposed to continue, but if the temperatures are low enough, it's going to freeze. It was warmer this afternoon, but earlier this week it was below zero. I left my cell phone in my car for only an hour and I got a warning message - the temperature on my dashboard said minus 2! Be really, really careful out there!

I know it's going to be a mix of ice and snow. I am taking the bus from Boston since it's the easiest way to get there. Usually I take the train up to Maine and ride w/ my sister and her family but that is just too complicated and will take even longer. It's a beautiful area. I really miss upstate NY, there is no place like it for natural beauty. However winter up there is harsh.

You should enter a photography contest w/ pics of your area! It is so beautiful. I love Lake George and the surrounding towns. I think it is one of the most beautiful places. There is no place like it in the world. I am probably biased being a New Yorker, but I have never seen a more breathtaking area. We drive through there every summer coming back from dropping all the nieces and nephews off at camp in the Adirondacks and I always wish I could stay. My dad would take me there when I was little and I just found the area so stunningly beautiful.

Sorry, I am getting a little nostalgic. I just love that part of the world. I like where I live, but there will never be a place that enchants me like upstate NY.

I planned on being two places tomorrow, but I've been having second thoughts. It is lovely here - in the summer - but the winters can be a nightmare. I'm actually quite near West Mountain, not that I ski. The main Northway Exit for Saratoga is 15 (I grew up nearest to 14) and now I'm just north of 18 - just north of Glens Falls and Lake George is Exit 21.

I go to a meeting in Lake George every month and it's tough in the summer, the streets are so packed with tourists. But this time of year it's really a ghost town. They have some beautiful Christmas lights and decorations up, but I've driven up there and not seen a single car - maybe just a couple of snowmobiles!

For three years when I was in the early grades we lived in Ticonderoga at the very north end of Lake George. I think it's beautiful up there, don't know why people don't prefer it to Lake George Village since there's the lake and the mountains, but without all the tourists. And we didn't live "in town," but out off the lake. Our house was on the side of a mountain and the window in my room looked straight down the lake - with Roger's Rock in view just off to the right. I keep meaning to go back sometime, but the research I've done makes me think it's more built up now, no big surprise. When I was a kid it was fairly isolated except in the summer when the "summer people" would come to their lakefront houses right across the road.
