He's already a billionaire and his position with the company is honorary, he isn't CEO and hasn't been chief for a while now.

How, exactly, is *he* going to be hurt? He already has the money and name recognition/association to try. Further, I don't see even the baristas being impacted because let's be real, boycotting Starbuck's? How many brazillions of people go there every hour? And there've been "boycotts" of Starbuck's before that no one gave two shits about.

No, focus on pointing out how dumb his ideas are and what a silver-spooned crybaby he is because boo-hoo the poors and hoi polloi are being uppity.

I'm reminded of the so-called "War on Christmas" being waged, when the evangelical types ordered shoppers not to patronize retailers who had "Happy Holidays" signs rather than "Merry Christmas". A friend of mine, a fellow Democrat active in the local party HQ, worked at Macy's, one of two jobs she had to support herself and her kids. My response to the enraged warriors for Jesus was, yeah, that's a good idea--launch a boycott that would result in employees losing their jobs and income. 'Cause after all, Christmas is all about SHOPPING, right? I sorta feel the same about the Starbucks boycott. Never gonna hurt Schultz one iota, but could negatively impact a bunch of baristas and other Starbucks employees just workin' for a living.

Hope I don't get alerted but while I rarely have a chance to go to Starbucks these days, I kinda like several of their specialty drinks. I would never-ever support Schultz and hope to heaven he's not the Dem candidate, but see no reason to take it out on the Starbucks staff or deny myself the occasional Bold Signature Espresso. Just me, of course!

Just because Howard Schultz is a businessman, he's being tarred and feathered as a substitute for Trump.

We used to be hospitable, or at least tolerant, of businessmen who ran for President -- Carly Fiorini and Ross Perot, for example. But for some reason Howard Schultz is considered beyond the pale.

And the one reason is that he's seen as a billionaire businessman, which is likened to Donald Trump. But there are differences.
Schultz's billions are real. Schultz commanded a big and successful company. Schultz never went into bankruptcy, not even once. Schultz was not a birfer, nor involved in any other craziness.

Let him run, even as an Independent. He'll sink or swim on his own. After all, we let (and we're letting again) Jill Stein run for President.

And Schultz is n o longer in charge of Starbucks; why punish Starbucks and all its baristas for someone no longer at its helm?
